UPDATE (4:15 p.m.)- Santa Barbara Police Department Public Information Officer Anthony Wagner says the decedent was identified as a male, whose body was found just above the shoreline at Hendry’s Beach.
Detectives and forensics teams are working to determine if there are any signs of foul play on the body. The Santa Barbara Police Department is working in conjunction with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office Coroner to identify and contact the man’s next of kin.
A body was discovered Saturday afternoon about a mile out from Hendry’s Beach in Santa Barbara, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.
Dispatch personnel said the police department is currently at the scene investigating.
